Dear {First Name},
Generation Z, born 1997 - 2012 is just starting to enter the charitable giving phases of life, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't start considering how we may need to customize our messaging and/or engagement strategies to begin to embrace their potential partnership and participation in our ministries.
Based on what we already know about this next generation here's a few suggestions:
1. Emphasize THEIR impact:
Gen Z donors will not mindlessly give, just because. They will be insistent on understanding where and how their donation will be used. Take out the question marks and tell them about the true impact their dollars make!
2. Create content that speaks to them:
When I was a baby, my dad put a football in my crib. Gen Z babies had iPhones put in their crib. Content like short videos and interactive posts (like Instagram Reels & Stories) are among some of the best ways to reach Gen Z where they are.
3. Be innovative in fundraising strategies & methods:
Get ready to employ and execute strategies like peer-to-peer fundraising and gamification in your campaigns. More than any generation before them, this age group loves the experience. Create journeys for them and they will follow you.
